Glennie’s Story

Glennie’s started in 1967 in Escondido, by Bill Glennie Jr., with the commitment that you, the customer, are the primary focus of our daily activity. Over the years as our industry changed we have acquired other commercial and retail office products companies in the area, opened retail locations and moved some of them, even closed a couple as the retail side of the business changed. Currently we have two furniture showrooms and retail stores serving you in Escondido and Temecula with customer care teams in both locations.

We spoke about you being our primary focus. Doesn’t everyone have that focus? You be the judge. We are confident that at Glennie’s every request, every action, every concern, every day has one measure; will this benefit you, our customer. How can we meet that special requirement or delivery? What extra value can we provide? How can we serve our customers better? While I don’t think any of our competition tries to give less than stellar service, when a company gets too big they just cannot make the exceptions to meet all your special requirements. At Glennie’s we make exceptions and meet your special requirements every day.

Experience tells us our competition wants you to “do it their way.” You fit one of three models – Large Corporate; Medium or Small office/Home office. And they conduct business with you conforming to one of their three cookie cutters. We don’t have cookie cutters (except during holidays). We make every effort to see how you go about purchasing and acquiring product; process invoices and make payments; and tailor our process to fit yours. Our competition may do that too, but only if you are a multi-billion dollar mega corporation.

We often get the question; “How can you compete?” Remember the saying “United we stand, divided we fall”? Glennie’s is a member of the Trimega Purchasing Association, a group of nearly 600 members maximizing combined volume to leverage with vendors for the lowest possible cost of goods. Plus, we don’t spend a lot of money on naming rights to sports arenas….  Who pays for that!? But seriously, NO ONE is the lowest price on everything all the time in spite of their “Low Price Guarantee” – read the fine print. But when we sit down with customers just like you, they are surprised at how competitive we are. And I will guarantee we can out service the big box stores. Like many companies, we are affiliated with distribution centers serving the entire United States. If you need product at a location throughout the Continental United States, we can do that.  But we realize that with our locations in Escondido and Temecula, we are best at serving San Diego and Southwest Riverside Counties, the area we and our employees call home.
